Shamrock Lakes Defers Wells Park Fund Ordinance Over Property Questions

By The Blackford Ledger The Blackford Ledger

From the Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting on May 21, 2026

The Shamrock Lakes Town Board reviewed a draft budget and fund ordinance for Wells Park but deferred the first reading after questions arose about which properties to include.

The discussion centered on whether Galway Park and the beach house property should be listed in the ordinance, given that those properties are deeded to the Lake Association, not the town. Steve Voller referenced prior legal advice from attorney Danielle cautioning that crossing lines between Lake Association property and town property could create complications.

The board decided to defer action pending guidance from the attorney on which properties to include, whether legal descriptions should be attached as exhibits, and how to handle future property additions.

The town had previously formally established Wells Park with an ordinance at an earlier meeting.
