Montpelier Water Filter Replacement and Citywide Smart Meter Installation Starting Soon

By Derek Wheeler The Blackford Ledger

From the Montpelier Common City Council meeting on June 8, 2026

The mayor announced that the water filter replacement project is about to begin. One of the city's two water filters will be replaced, and every water meter in the city will be replaced with new smart meters within the next three months.

Once the new meters are in place, residents will be able to track their own water usage. The smart meter replacement is part of a larger water infrastructure project.
