From the Montpelier meeting on October 26, 2026

Recipients of Montpelier's housing-preservation awards were scheduled to meet with consultant Dave Kieser at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 to discuss how they could use their grant money.

The next-day appointment was discussed at the Oct. 26 meeting. It follows the Oct. 12 announcement that winners had been notified and were moving into the next step of the grant process.

The discussion concerned Montpelier's earlier $70,000 first-round housing-preservation grant. Recipients were still deciding which repairs to tackle first, with possible work including roofs and insulation, electrical repairs or heating and cooling systems.

Speakers whose names were not identified discussed whether shared contractors could help stretch the awards. They also described the money as potentially covering only one major repair per home in some cases. No contractor awards were approved during this discussion.
