Montpelier Housing Preservation Grant Program Officially Launched — Applications Available

The $70,000 federal Housing Preservation Grant funded by Rural Development is now officially active. Hard copy applications are available at Montpelier City Hall through the mayor and clerk-treasurer's office. Electronic copies will be posted to the city website.

The program targets low and very low income residents needing home improvements. Approximately $60,000-plus is available for housing improvements after administrative costs. The goal is to assist six to ten houses in this round. The city plans to apply for the program again, as it is a 100% grant requiring no local match.

Residents who need home repairs and meet income qualifications should contact City Hall for an application.
