Montpelier: Baldwin Park Bids Due End of Month — Construction Could Start September

From the Montpelier Board of Works meeting on June 9, 2026

Mayor Nef said Baldwin Park bid packages should go out by the end of June, with bid acceptance targeted for mid-July. Construction could start in early September, with completion by the end of 2026.

The park will include two pavilions — adding a second — and expanded parking from 16-18 front spots to approximately 40 total, with new spaces added in back and on the side. The mayor tested playground equipment in Indianapolis and insisted on designs that allow adults to climb with children.

Nef called Baldwin Park "the most visible park" and "the last big park project" in Montpelier's citywide renovation program. "Going to be the best one yet," he said.
