Montpelier America 250 and July 4th Celebration Schedule Announced

The mayor announced the full schedule for Montpelier's America 250 / July 4th celebration:

A free veterans breakfast runs from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Masonic Lodge, sponsored by the Masons and Daughters of the American Revolution. The breakfast is free for veterans, with donations accepted from others. At 11:00 AM, a program will feature the national anthem and a reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by a parade downtown.

The Historical Society will host stations at the Civic Center showing life in 1776, and the Montpelier Museum will be open. A time capsule buried 50 years ago during the 1976 Bicentennial will be opened and its contents displayed. A new time capsule will be placed for opening in 2076. Fireworks will be held at dusk at the Montpelier Speedway.
