Mainstream Fiber Networks Work in Hartford City to Run Through Spring
From Dan Eckstein’s Facebook Live update on October 20, 2026
Mainstream’s fiber internet construction in Hartford City will continue through spring, Dan Eckstein said October 20, as he rejected a rumor linking the work to a data center.
Eckstein said the project “absolutely has nothing” to do with a data center. He described it as an internet-service improvement that will give residents the option to get fiber connections at their homes. Residents do not have to switch providers.
In an October 16 update, Eckstein had announced that Mainstream’s construction had begun. His latest remarks set out the expected construction window and addressed the rumor about the project’s purpose.
Some lines will go underground and others overhead, depending on the location. Eckstein cautioned that restoration would not happen in the same week crews were digging.
The work is moving throughout the city. Eckstein said he would try to obtain a map and directed residents with major concerns or questions about work at a specific address to contact his office.
