Mainstream Fiber Networks Work Begins in Hartford City, Mayor Says
From Dan Eckstein’s Facebook Live update on October 16, 2026
Mainstream has begun fiber construction in Hartford City, Dan Eckstein said October 16, with a spring service option discussed for residents.
The city’s September 8 council minutes record 5–0 approval of a Mainstream Fiber Networks right-of-way project. That authorization allowed the project to proceed; it did not establish completed installation or current service at individual homes.
Eckstein said work would involve digging in right-of-way areas. He did not provide a neighborhood construction schedule, address-level connection dates or resident service prices.
The mayor said an interview with a company representative was planned for the following week to discuss the project and pricing. His spring expectation was not a guaranteed connection date for every address.
