MadJax Maker Force Wins $32,200 State Grant for Blackford and Delaware Counties
Governor Mike Braun announced $757,000 in Community Collaboration Fund grants on July 6, supporting 22 community-led entrepreneurship projects statewide. One recipient directly serves Blackford County.
MadJax Maker Force received $32,200 for a "Maker to Market Accelerator" — a six-month pilot program for up to 20 makers, artists, and small manufacturers in Delaware and Blackford counties who have existing products and are ready to strengthen their market presence. Participants will receive cohort-based education, hands-on technical support, and opportunities to apply new skills through established market opportunities including the Muncie Makers Market and The People's Marketplace.
MadJax is based in Muncie but the program explicitly includes Blackford County. Residents in Hartford City, Dunkirk, and Montpelier who make, create, or manufacture products may be eligible.
Blackford County has among the state's highest unemployment, tied for 10th-highest in May 2026 data. This grant provides direct entrepreneurial support and access to regional markets for county residents.
