From the Blackford County Commissioners meeting on October 19, 2026

Blackford County commissioners sought legal documentation of Lake Mohee Dam ownership before moving ahead with financing discussions.

The Ledger previously reported that commissioners tabled the next financing step October 5 after a presentation tied to an approximately $4 million project estimate. That meeting also included a $523,000 proposed debt-service line, money intended for loan or bond payments.

Monday's discussion addressed inconsistent state records and drain names. A speaker whose identity was not established asserted that the dam was county-owned. Commissioners asked for verification rather than making a final ownership determination.

No financing was approved and no bond was issued during the discussion. The earlier project and debt-service figures remained estimates, not new spending authorizations.
