Indiana Tax Amnesty Program Opens Today, Runs Through September 9
The Indiana Department of Revenue's tax amnesty program officially opens today, July 15, giving eligible taxpayers a 57-day window to pay overdue state taxes without penalties, interest, or collection fees.
The program runs through September 9, 2026, and covers tax years ending before January 1, 2024, as extended by Senate Bill 243. The DOR's online eligibility tool is now live for taxpayers to check whether they qualify.
The United Collection Bureau is partnering with the state to administer the program. Eligible taxpayers who take advantage of the amnesty window will have all penalties, interest, and collection fees waived on qualifying overdue tax balances.
For Blackford County residents or businesses with outstanding state tax obligations, this is a concrete opportunity to resolve those debts at reduced cost before the September 9 deadline.
