Hartford City Plans Complete Refresh of Sigma Phi Gamma Park
From the Hartford City Facebook Live stream on July 1, 2026
Hartford City is exploring a potential overhaul of Sigma Phi Gamma Park, with a public input meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, at 6:00 PM at City Hall.
A parks official identified as Dustin announced the initiative during a Facebook Live stream on July 1, calling it “an opportunity of a lifetime.” The Parks Department and Mayor’s Office are jointly planning what could become a complete refresh of the park with new amenities and features.
No funding source, budget, or specific amenities have been named. City officials are asking residents to attend the July 14 meeting to share comments, questions, and ideas about the park’s future.
The park has been in the news recently — the city took over the electric meter serving the Pee Wee football area at Sigma Phi Park in June after learning the youth league had been paying the bill.
The public input meeting will be held at City Hall, 700 N. Walnut Street.
