A $6,500 proposal to reset existing bricks around and in front of Baldwin Park advanced to a motion as Montpelier considered how to protect the paving during park construction.

Brad Neff described uneven surfaces and spread joints creating a trip hazard. The proposed work would lift the bricks, re-sand the area and relay them.

Board members discussed starting away from the construction area, routing equipment through the alley and coordinating with the general contractor. The concern was that heavy equipment could damage freshly reset bricks.

Board Member Cagle made a motion near the end of the discussion, followed by a second. Final approval was not confirmed. No contractor identity was established.

Neff said work might continue until spring because it would be done intermittently. That was not a guaranteed completion date. The $6,500 was a proposed city expense separate from the park's other construction contracts.
