Volunteer Runs Cat Trap-Neuter-Return Program in Montpelier

By The Blackford Ledger The Blackford Ledger

From the Montpelier Board of Works meeting on June 9, 2026

Mayor Nef thanked volunteer Randy McCoy for running a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program for stray cats, repeating his efforts from last year. McCoy traps cats, takes them to be neutered, and returns them to their original territory — a standard approach that prevents replacement cats from moving into vacated areas.

The mayor noted McCoy sends him photos of trapped cats "several mornings a week."
