From the Montpelier Board of Works & Safety meeting on July 15, 2026
Chief Snyder reported that the parts to fix the tornado siren on the west side of town have been obtained. Scheduling the repair work is the remaining step. The siren was out during severe storms around July 3–4.
Snyder reminded residents that outdoor sirens are designed to alert people who are outside, not inside buildings, and encouraged the use of weather radios and phone apps for indoor alerts.
