A manhole cover near the beach house and dam area was "shooting a lot of water" during the early August storms, board member Steve Waller reported at the August 20 Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting.

Waller said the water volume was too high to be from sump pumps alone and suspects water infiltration from another source. The board plans to investigate the issue during the next phase of sewer work.

President Maroon noted that some residents may have gutters or downspouts illegally tied into the sewer system, which overwhelms it during heavy rain. He reminded residents that this is against town ordinance.
