Shamrock Lakes Sets Oct. 15 Budget Adoption Date
From the Town of Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting on September 17, 2026
Shamrock Lakes officials said Sept. 17 that the town's proposed 2027 budget will come up for adoption Oct. 15 after a hearing that highlighted a corrected total and several cost pressures.
During the discussion, board members said one summary page gave the wrong impression and that the proposal actually shows a $1,250 increase from last year, not a decrease. Clerk-Treasurer Diann Nichols also said the Bestway trash contract is expected to rise 3% and, with one added house, should total about $23,834 in 2027.
Nichols said earlier policy changes were helping shift part of liability insurance and workers' compensation costs to the sewer side. She also said fire protection is now set to rise 1% each year and that mowing went over the town's assumption of 15 cuts by reaching 19 last year, which is why more money was placed in that line.
The Sept. 17 discussion was a preview, not the final vote.
