Shamrock Lakes Board Clears Two Home Projects

From the Town of Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting on September 17, 2026

The Shamrock Lakes Town Board approved two separate home-improvement requests on Sept. 17, allowing a carport at 9 Lakeview Court and a porch project for resident John Crist, with county permits still required for both jobs.

In the first case, the board approved Larry and Linda Mealy's request to place a 12-by-20 carport at 9 Lakeview Court. The applicants said they wanted the structure to protect a truck that does not fit well in the existing garage. Board members discussed where it would sit in relation to the house and nearby features before voting.

Later in the meeting, the board took up Crist's request for a wooden porch addition. During discussion, members asked about the size of the project and related roof work. The motion was then amended to include an asphalt full-roof replacement, and the board approved the amended request.

Clerk-Treasurer Diann Nichols said the town would send notice of each approval to county zoning, but county permit review still must happen before the work can move ahead.
