Shamrock Lakes Beach House Reservation Reveals Policy Gap

From the Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting on July 16, 2026

A resident's request to reserve the beach house for an event revealed that the town has no formal reservation process. The beach house has a split ownership structure: the building belongs to the town and is insured by the town, while the property underneath is owned by the Shamrock Lakes Association and insured by the association.

The board identified several requirements before reservations can proceed: a liability waiver contract reviewed by the town attorney, a waterproof bulletin board outside the building with contact information and rules, and ADA-compliant restrooms, which the facility currently lacks.

The board reached consensus that the beach house should be available to all town residents, not just Lake Association members. Steve Waller and Paul Bailey will take the lead on developing a reservation framework. The resident who made the original request was informed the process is not yet available.
