From the Shamrock Lakes Town Board meeting in October 2026

Sewer plant manager Travis Williamson explained at Shamrock Lakes' October town board meeting how quality-assurance testing supports the town's ability to conduct its own pH and chlorine tests.

Williamson described the DMR-QA program as testing samples with known values to check the accuracy of local testing. He said Shamrock Lakes participates on a three-year cycle and that testing reagents cost roughly $75 to $100 each.

He said Hartford City performs testing for phosphorus, ammonia and biological oxygen demand, a measure of how much oxygen is needed to break down material in wastewater. Shamrock Lakes uses those results, he said.

Williamson said a failed quality-assurance test would require corrective work. The discussion did not establish a testing failure or a new enforcement action, and the board took no vote on spending.
