Hartford City Says 213 W. Washington Transfer Appears Complete

From the Hartford City Redevelopment Commission meeting on September 17, 2026

Hartford City Redevelopment Commission members said Sept. 17 that a previous sale of 213 W. Washington Street appears to have been completed, easing concern that the city might still be on the hook for fall property taxes.

Dana Whatley told the board she was worried the so-called CON building might still be showing in the city's name, which could leave a November tax bill with the city if the transfer had not fully cleared. She said the fall taxes showing as due were $1,135.50.

During the meeting, attorney Tyler Rotstein checked Beacon and GIS records and said he found the property listed in the names of Chad Oxley and Don Winger. Participants treated that as confirmation that the title transfer had gone through.

The board did not take a formal vote on the item, but the discussion resolved the immediate administrative question raised during the meeting.
