Election Day — May 5, 2026

Blackford County voters head to the polls today for the Indiana Republican primary, with two contested local races on the ballot — part of the five contested Republican races countywide.

In Blackford County Council District 3, incumbent Patrick Cale faces challenger Deb Grider. In the Blackford County Prosecutor's race, incumbent Joelle Freiburger is challenged by Aaron Henderson.

All other local candidates are running unopposed.

Polls are open from 6 AM to 6 PM Eastern. The Blackford County Courthouse is closed for regular business today. Voters can check results after polls close at the Indiana Election Night Reporting site at enr.indianavoters.in.gov.

No Blackford County-specific media coverage of the primary has been published as of this morning. Statewide outlets including AP News, IndyStar, WFYI, and PBS will carry live results pages tonight.

Results from the two contested local races — covered in our full voter guide — will determine who appears on the fall ballot.
