Only One Bid Received for Dunkirk City Building Windows; Decision Tabled
From the Dunkirk Board of Works and City Council meetings on August 10, 2026
The Dunkirk City Council tabled its decision on new windows and front renovations for the city building after receiving only one bid. The second bidder did not show up.
City Attorney Wes offered to reach out to his contacts to find another contractor willing to submit a bid for comparison. The council will revisit the decision at its next meeting.
At the Board of Works meeting, a member asked whether the city itself needs a building permit for the front wall replacement work. The mayor said he is checking with the appropriate official, noting they don't want "to be the ones getting in trouble" since "we're the ones supposed to be watching."
