Montpelier Signs Commitment for Next Community Crossings Road Grant

Montpelier's Board of Public Works unanimously approved signing a financial commitment letter pledging the city's 20% local match for the upcoming Community Crossings grant application, to be submitted in October. Jasmine Johnson of USI Consultants attended the meeting to obtain Brad Neff's signature. The state pays 80% of road improvements through the program.
Montpelier received $842,000.16 in the previous round of Community Crossings funding. Brad Neff noted the city's road rating was previously 3.37 out of 10 — "it was terrible" — and is now improving through the grant-funded road program.
Community Crossings has been Montpelier's primary funding source for road improvements and this next application continues what has been a transformative program for the city's infrastructure.
