The Montpelier Police Department is pursuing body-worn cameras and in-car video systems, with a grant decision expected within the next month. Chief Snider reported at the April 15 Board of Works meeting that he is still waiting on a second quote.

Two police vehicles currently lack video systems, and Chief Snider said he is "very reluctant" to send them on patrol without video capability. The proposed system would offer 5-year warranties, cloud-based storage, automatic activation when vehicle lights are triggered, and 13-hour battery life. Body cameras, in-car video, and interview room cameras would all integrate into one system.

Specific cost figures were not stated on the record at the meeting.
