Chief Snyder reported that the police department's hiring process is advancing. The department has interviewed multiple candidates, with one already completing the physical agility test and another scheduled to take it soon. Snyder said he hopes to bring results and a recommendation to the next Board of Works meeting. If a hire is finalized sooner, the mayor would convene a special session.

"There does seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel," Snyder said, adding that he and the mayor are "pretty confident it's not a train."
