From the Montpelier Redevelopment Committee meeting on April 13, 2026

The Redevelopment Committee voted unanimously on April 13 to proceed with purchasing 121 South Main Street, a building that sits between two city-owned properties at 117 and 123 South Main. The building has roof and foundation issues.

Mayor Neff, working with city consultant Dave Geyser, identified a $99,000 grant that could cover both the purchase price (estimated at $30,000 or more) and repair costs. The grant application deadline is this month.

The building owner has agreed to sell and may do additional repairs before the sale, which could be factored into the purchase price. A contract from the city attorney is pending.

The acquisition would give the city contiguous control of the 117–125 South Main block, which already houses Meridian Health Services at 123 South Main.
