IU Health Ambulance Returns to Montpelier — Operating Without Lease

By The Blackford Ledger The Blackford Ledger

Location: Montpelier

From the Montpelier Board of Works and Safety meeting on April 15, 2026

The IU Health ambulance has returned to Montpelier and is now responding to calls from the old Lions Club building — but without a formal lease agreement in place.

Chief Snider brought this to the mayor's attention during the April 15 meeting, noting that the ambulance appears to have returned without notifying city leadership. Mayor Neff confirmed IU Health has not sent the lease agreement yet but expressed relief they are back.

The return of local ambulance service is welcome news for Montpelier residents, though the lack of a formal lease remains an unresolved administrative matter.
