Montpelier: Henderson Street Voluntary Annexation — Public Hearing Set Before August Meeting

From the Montpelier City Council meeting on July 6, 2026

Montpelier is moving to annex approximately eight lots on the 600 block of Henderson Street, west of Standard Oil. Brad Neff confirmed it is a "100% volunteer annexation," meaning all property owners have consented.

A public hearing will be held before the August 10 council meeting. No vote was taken on the annexation itself — that will follow the public hearing.

Brad Neff encouraged other residents outside city limits to consider voluntary annexation, citing access to law enforcement services and eligibility for grants not available outside city limits. The annexation would expand Montpelier's tax base by adding the eight lots.
