Cooley's has the variable frequency drive for the main lift station, but Water Superintendent Chase Perry has been unable to reach them to schedule installation — the contact may be on vacation. The approved cost is $6,455. Perry noted the VFD has "been out" for an extended period and plans to try reaching Cooley's again later this week.
A variable frequency drive controls the speed of the lift station pump motor, improving efficiency and reducing wear.
