From the Montpelier Common Council meeting on October 12, 2026

Montpelier's council heard a detailed quarterly update Monday on the county's jail-reentry and Recovery Program, including 317 total engagements over the last quarter.

Keith Adams, introduced in the meeting as the program's new supervisor, said the quarter included 18 new intakes, eight reactivations, 101.17 peer-support hours, seven successful reentry completions, four successful transitions to the Department of Correction, 58 matrix groups, 87 total matrix-group hours, and 47 participants.

Earlier this year, county officials publicly tied the program's outcomes to a request for opioid-settlement money, and Montpelier approved $10,000 for the effort in June. Adams also said one-on-one sessions would expand from 15 minutes to 30 minutes starting next month and promised quarterly reports going forward.

The council did not vote on anything in this segment, but the update put current performance numbers into the public record.
