Resident Judy Saunders raised the issue of thistle growth in the city during public comment, pointing to a property on High Street where "the whole front yard is thistles." She asked whether there is a city ordinance against thistles.

Mayor Dan Eckstein indicated it would likely fall under the weed ordinance or greenscape ordinance. Clerk-Treasurer Dana Whatley said she would review both ordinances. Council Member Ron Dudelston recalled that farmers historically opposed thistles but was unsure whether enforcement fell under city or county jurisdiction.
