Hartford City: House Flipper Rescues 207 East Main from Teardown Order

Rosa Diaz, a house flipper currently renovating 514 West Main Street, asked the Property Standards Board to rescind a teardown order on 207 East Main Street and convert it to a rehab order. The board voted 3-0 to approve.

Ordinance Control Officer Dennis Maddox praised Diaz's work at 514 West Main, saying the property looks "night and day different" with a new roof and brick front. Diaz indicated that project has about three weeks of interior work remaining, after which she will move to 207 East Main.

Diaz also owns 822 West Commercial Street, another property she plans to rehabilitate after completing the current projects. She was given 60 days — until the August meeting — to show progress.

Board member Colleen Dickey noted a neighbor next door would be "thrilled" about the rehabilitation.
