Hartford City approves Richmond Street tank maintenance program
From the Hartford City Common Council meeting on September 9, 2026
Hartford City Common Council approved a long-term maintenance program for the Richmond Street water tank, choosing a preventive plan for one of the city's key water assets.
A USG Water Solutions representative identified in the transcript only as Brock told council the program would cover the tank's coatings and place a lifetime warranty on the steel as part of an ongoing maintenance arrangement. He said the first-year cost would be about $25,000.
The discussion also looked back at the tank recoating work completed in 2024. Brock said that work had been discussed in the $700,000-$800,000 range. Council then voted to approve the maintenance program, shifting from large periodic repair work toward regular upkeep.
