Dunkirk Well Pump #4 Rebuilt and Back in Service

From the City of Dunkirk Board of Works and City of Dunkirk City Council meetings on July 13, 2026

Well pump #4 has been completely pulled from service, cleaned, rebuilt, and returned to operation. Both required tests were passed. The final bill has not yet been received — council had authorized up to $52,000 for the work on June 22.

The rebuild is part of the $103,257 water infrastructure package approved June 22, which also included Well #2 pump repairs ($39,000) and hydrant and line work ($12,257). The status of Well #2 was not discussed at either meeting.
