Dunkirk Pickleball Court Finished; Baby Pool Nearing Reopening

By The Blackford Ledger The Blackford Ledger

From the Dunkirk Board of Works and City Council meetings on June 22, 2026

Dunkirk's new pickleball court is complete and in active use, with signs displaying rules and regulations still being prepared by the park board. Two pole lights are planned but not yet installed.

The city's baby pool has been repaired and a second water quality test was taken on June 22. If the test passes, the pool was expected to reopen on Wednesday, June 24.

The city is also addressing lifeguard staffing shortages. Dunkirk is hiring a qualified lifeguard trainer, and three current employees are completing certification courses. Two additional already-certified applicants have applied. The city's goal is eight total lifeguards for the remainder of the season.
