Dunkirk grants two water-leak billing adjustments worth $2,443.55

Dunkirk's City Council approved two underground water-leak billing adjustments Monday totaling $2,443.55 for properties on North Elm and West Washington.
One adjustment covered 702 North Elm for $686.27. The second covered 315 West Washington for $1,757.28. City officials said Aaron Huey had verified both leaks before the requests reached council.
Clerk-Treasurer Kelly Early said the two adjustments were still showing in the city's older meeting system, which suggests they may have been pending from an earlier agenda cycle. The approvals reduce what those customers would otherwise owe on their utility bills.
The votes also put on the record that the city is willing to treat verified underground leaks as an exception to normal billing.
