Dunkirk Denies Water Bill Adjustment for Unfixed Leak
From the Dunkirk City Council meeting on April 27, 2026
The council denied a request for a water bill adjustment due to a leak at 153 Highland Ave. The request was denied because the leak was not repaired after the property owner was notified by the city. However, the council approved establishing a payment plan for the property owner.
Council Member Bivens noted that the city's new water meters detect leaks quickly and residents are notified as soon as possible.
Residents should be aware that leaks detected by the new meters must be fixed promptly — the city may deny bill adjustments if repairs are not made after notification.
