Dunkirk Approves $7,022.50 for Sewer Repairs and Pump Work
From the Dunkirk Board of Works meeting on April 13, 2026
The Dunkirk Board of Works approved three sewage-related expenditures totaling $7,022.50 at its April 13 meeting.
East Central Contractor will receive $1,222.50 to jet a sewer line on High Street. The city plans to bill Ardagh for reimbursement, indicating the blockage may be connected to the Ardagh facility. Ardagh Group operates a glass manufacturing plant in Dunkirk.
Water Solutions will receive $800 for a second pump, originally approved at the February 9 meeting. CW Contracting will receive $5,000 to run electric to a pump.
All three expenditures passed with Dan making the motions and Jesse seconding. All motions carried.
The Ardagh reimbursement detail is notable — if the city is billing a private company for sewer line maintenance, it suggests the company's operations contributed to the problem.
