Drainage Board Sets New Per-Acre Charges for Two Drains

By The Blackford Ledger The Blackford Ledger

The Blackford County Drainage Board approved new assessments on Sept. 8 for two regulated drains, setting one rate for the Skinner Roush drain and another for the Panhandle drain.

For Skinner Roush, the board approved a charge of $21 per acre with no minimum. Staff said that rate should generate about $2,600 a year for eight years to repay this year's installation work.

For the Panhandle drain, the board approved $20 per acre with no minimum. That assessment is expected to bring in about $2,200 a year for eight years.
