Drainage Board Ends Zoom Livestreaming, Follows Commissioners' Lead in Blackford County

From the Blackford County Drainage Board meeting on August 3, 2026

The Blackford County Drainage Board voted 3-0 to end Zoom livestreaming of its meetings, following the commissioners' earlier decision to do the same. YouTube and website livestreaming will continue.

Board members cited audio delays, people talking over each other, and technical difficulties as reasons for dropping Zoom. Commissioner Lancaster said the commissioners' meeting earlier that morning "was much better" without it, though the website stream had a 15-minute lag at one point.

Lancaster characterized Zoom as a COVID-era convenience that no longer works well: "COVID's done, and those easy options aren't anymore." He also noted that no one can vote via Zoom — members must be physically present.
