County Updates Title VI Compliance Paperwork in Two Votes
Blackford County commissioners took two related civil-rights compliance votes on Sept. 8, approving Resolution 2026-12 and then separately adopting the county's 2027 Title VI implementation plan.
The first action updated ADA and Title VI procedures and named John Lancaster as the county's coordinator. Officials described that vote as routine compliance work needed to keep state and federal funding in good standing.
After that, commissioners approved the 2027 Title VI implementation plan as a separate action. No dollar amount was attached to either vote, but officials said the paperwork helps protect access to federal bridge and other grant money.
For residents, these are votes with real stakes. If the county lets required compliance documents lapse, it can put outside funding at risk.
