County Approves $15,000 in ADA Ramp and Sidewalk Engineering
Blackford County commissioners approved a $15,000 engineering quote on Sept. 8 for ADA ramp and sidewalk work at the courthouse and health department.
The quote from USI covers drawings, specifications, estimates, and bid documents for the project. Meeting discussion said the work will address the courthouse's north-side entrance, sidewalk grades, required landings, lighting, and a failed railing at the health department.
This vote covers engineering only, not the later construction phase. Still, it moves both county buildings closer to meeting accessibility standards instead of patching problems one by one.
