BZA to Hear Neighbors' Appeal Over Lake Trout Solar Permits Oct. 20
The Blackford County Area Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on an appeal tied to the Lake Trout Solar project on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
The hearing will take place in the Circuit Court courtroom on the third floor of the Blackford County Courthouse, 110 W. Washington St., Hartford City.
What the appeal covers
According to the public notice and our previous coverage, the appeal concerns the county's issuance of an improvement location permit and its failure to cancel void permits.
The notice lists 44 parcels. Most sit north of Montpelier along County Roads 300 East, 400 East, 500 North and 600 North. Several carry Hartford City addresses.
The appellants named in the notice are George and Amber Horton, David Haisley, Amber and Joe Reynard, Chad Clark, Kathy A. Garton, Andrew Langdon, and Ryan and Kathleen McCall. All list Montpelier addresses. Laureen White of Anderson represents the group.

Anyone may speak at the hearing or submit written comments. Written comments may be filed with BZA Secretary Samantha Dick at or before the meeting.
The notice states the board may continue the hearing to a later date.
