Blackford County Wind Farm Fatality Draws International Industry Scrutiny

The July 10 crane fatality at a Blackford County wind farm construction site has drawn coverage from Vertikal.net, a major international crane and construction industry trade publication, 19 days after the incident.

The July 27 report described the incident as a "crane collapse" and cited Blackford County Coroner Zach Crouch and the sheriff's office confirming the death. The publication noted that none of its industry contacts in the region provided additional information about the incident.

The contractor operating the crane has not been publicly identified. No preliminary findings or citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been announced as of Day 19.
