Blackford County Sets September 9 for 2027 Budget Adoption Vote

Council President Jack Beckley announced the Blackford County Council will hold its 2027 budget adoption vote at its regular meeting on September 9 at 6 p.m. That vote will finalize all budget decisions from the workshop and appeals process, including the $5,000 Shafer Leadership Academy line and the $47,500 animal shelter contract.
No department heads requested appeals of budget workshop decisions beyond the two items addressed at the August 19 meeting. The council approved the August 5 budget workshop minutes on a 6-0 vote.
The next commissioners meeting is September 8 at 8:30 a.m. The courthouse will be closed September 7 for Labor Day.
