Blackford County Highway Mechanic Kevin Lex Honored as Outstanding Mechanic of the Year

Kevin Lex, a mechanic with the Blackford County Highway Department, received the Outstanding Mechanic of the Year award from the Indiana Association of County Highway Engineers and Supervisors. The Highway Superintendent presented Lex with a plaque at the June 15 Commissioner meeting.

Lex has served the highway department for 35 years, spending 29 of those under the current superintendent. He maintains an aging fleet of trucks and equipment on a limited budget. The superintendent praised his work: "His attention to detail on equipment repairs make him top-notch in his field of work."

Lex also serves as pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Church, where he has led the congregation for 20 years. He and his wife Lisa have been married 44 years and have three children.
