Miller Pipeline will replace a one-mile stretch of high-pressure steel gas line on County Road 100 East between East 100 South and 300 South, closing the southbound lane for 8 to 12 weeks.

The 6-inch gas line feeds from Eaton, Indiana, to Hartford City and serves a large portion of the city. Construction is expected to start within the next month. Flaggers will direct traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with portable stoplights in place overnight. Saturday work is possible, but no Sunday work is planned.

All driveways along the route will remain accessible. Road cuts needed for service tie-ins will be repaired by the contractor. The commissioners granted right-of-way access for the project.

The gas line work is being coordinated with the Bridge 23 project at the same location, as the gas line needs to be moved for bridge construction.
