The Blackford County Council approved the Prairie Creek Phase 2 Economic Development Agreement by a 5-1 vote, completing a package that includes a decommissioning agreement and a road use agreement.

Warren Brown, Economic Development Director, and Will Kolbuk, representing RWE, presented the full documentation. The Council had previously requested that all components be delivered together rather than piecemeal.

Council President Beckley noted the Council has no statutory authority over decommissioning or road use agreements — those are commissioner decisions.

Brown said amendments are possible if the Council identifies concerns, and that requests would be taken to the company.

In a roll call vote, Jim Weiseman, Ryan Goodspeed, Casey Dick, Fred Tobey, and Kyle Lechien voted yes. Council President Beckley voted no. He did not state a reason on the record.
