Blackford County Commissioners Approve $99,000 Audit of Wind and Solar Projects
From the Blackford County Commissioner meeting on May 4, 2026
Commissioners approved a contract with FNS for administrative review services covering all four current wind and solar energy projects in the county. The not-to-exceed cost is $99,000, split equally among the four energy groups at roughly $24,750 each.
The contract covers three areas: the formal audits commissioners previously requested, assistance to the county's planning and zoning team, and help for the assessor's office with property splits related to energy infrastructure.
Each company's scope of work will be developed individually because, as county economic development representative Warren explained, "they're all in different situations and different timings."
The cost is authorized under the professional services line item in the economic development agreement.
This audit follows commissioners' earlier moves to tighten oversight of wind and solar projects in the county.
